In a wireless communication system comprising a plurality of mesh points (MPs), a method and apparatus for transmitting management information includes a first MP transmitting a management frame to a second MP, wherein the management frame includes the medium access control (MAC) address of a destination MP. The second MP receives the management frame from the first MP and determines if it is the destination MP. The second MP updates the management frame if the second MP determines it is not the destination MP, and transmits the management frame to a third MP. The transmissions terminate when the data reaches the destination MP.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif destinés à la transmission d'informations de gestion dans un système de communication sans fil comprenant une pluralité de points de maillage (MP). Dans ce procédé, un premier point de maillage transmet une trame de gestion à un deuxième point de maillage, la trame de gestion contenant une adresse de contrôle d'accès au support (MAC) d'un point de maillage de destination. Ensuite, le deuxième point de maillage reçoit la trame de gestion transmise par le premier point de maillage et détermine s'il est le point de maillage de destination. Dans la négative, le deuxième point de maillage actualise la trame de gestion, puis transmet la trame de gestion à un troisième point de maillage. Les transmissions prennent fin lorsque les données atteignent le point de maillage de destination.
