The present invention is related to a method of treating a board-like material with a gaseous treatment agent, in which method the gaseous treatment agent is passed through the material (1) being treated. The board material (1) being treated is taken into at least one treatment zone (2), where the gaseous treatment agent is contacted with at least one wall of the board and is caused to pass through the thickness of the board material (1) and that, if required, the state of the gaseous treatment agent including its temperature, moisture content and/or composition is/are controlled in order to achieve a desired effect on the material (1) being treated.

Procédé pour traiter un matériau en forme de panneau avec un agent traitant gazeux, comprenant le passage de l'agent traitant gazeux à travers le matériau (1) à traiter. Le panneau en matériau (1) à traiter est placé dans au moins une zone (2) de traitement, où on met au moins une surface du panneau en contact avec un agent de traitement gazeux et on fait passer cet agent à travers l'épaisseur du matériau formant le panneau.
