The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for treating waste material, which apparatus comprises a conical rotatable rotor (3) placed between stators (1, 2). At least the stators (1, 2) have recesses (9) by means of which the material in the apparatus can be discharged therefrom when the rotor (3) is rotating. The rotor (3) has several openings (8a, 8b) in the axial direction of the apparatus through which openings at least some of the material is arranged to pass. The edges of the recesses (9) and the openings (8a, 8b) of the rotor (3) are sharp in such a manner that the waste material supplied to the apparatus is ground by means of the sharp edges when it passes through the openings (8a, 8b).

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour le traitement de déchets. Le dispositif comprend un rotor conique rotatif (3) placé entre des stators (1,2). Au moins les stators (1,2) comportent des cavités (9) permettant d'évacuer les matières du dispositif lorsque le rotor (3) est en rotation. Le rotor (3) comprend plusieurs ouvertures (8a, 8b) dans la direction axiale du dispositif, et il est prévu qu'au moins une partie des matières passe par lesdites ouvertures. Les bordures des cavités (9) et celles des ouvertures (8a, 8b) du rotor (3) sont tranchantes, ce qui permet de broyer les matières-déchets reçues dans le dispositif, au moment où lesdites matières passent par les ouvertures (8a, 8b).
