ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and apparatus for determining flow of a fluid through a conduit utilizes two pairs of transducers. The transducers are positioned to provide a first tone burst path between one pair of transducers and a second tone burst path between the second pair of transducers which paths cross. The flow rate calculated from each pair of transducers is averaged to determine the axial flow rates of the fluid, which is also the product of the actual flow velocity and the cosine of the pitch angle. The pitch angle itself may also be calculated via this method and apparatus.
