A vapor compression apparatus (20) and a method for operating a vapor compression system are provided. A working fluid is conveyed through a vapor compression system (20) having a fluid line (40). A magnetic field generator (30) is connected to the fluid line (40) to direct a magnetic field through the working fluid. The magnetic field is operable to disrupt intermolecular forces and weaken intermolecular attraction to enhance expansion of the working fluid to the vapor phase, increasing the capacity, performance and efficiency of the system components, and reducing system cycling, mechanical wear and energy consumption.
L'invention concerne un appareil de compression de vapeur (20) et un procédé permettant de faire fonctionner un système de compression de vapeur. Un fluide de travail traverse un système de compression de vapeur (20) doté d'une conduite de fluide (40). Un générateur de champ magnétique (30) est connecté à la conduite de fluide (40) pour diriger un champ magnétique dans le fluide de travail. Le champ magnétique permet d'interrompre les forces entre molécules et d'affaiblir l'attraction intermoléculaire pour améliorer l'expansion du fluide de travail jusqu'à la phase vapeur, pour améliorer la capacité, les performances et l'efficacité des composants système et pour réduire le cycle du système, l'usure mécanique et la consommation d'énergie.
