A method and apparatus of constructing a signal for a controlled source electromagnetic survey is described. In one embodiment, a method is described that includes determining a first waveform and a second waveform, the first waveform and second waveform related to a combined frequency spectrum and bandwidth associated with a geophysical survey line. Then, a signal is constructed by sequencing the first waveform with the second waveform. This signal may be utilized in a transmitter, which may be pulled by a vessel along the geophysical survey line.

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif destinés à produire un signal pour un levé électromagnétique à source contrôlée. Dans un mode de réalisation, l~invention concerne un procédé consistant à déterminer une première forme d~onde et une seconde forme d~onde, la première et la seconde forme d~onde étant liées à une combinaison de spectre de fréquences et de bande passante associée à une ligne de levé géophysique. Un signal est ensuite produit par mise en séquence de la première forme d~onde et de la seconde. Ce signal peut être utilisé par un émetteur, qui peut être tiré par un navire le long de la ligne de levé géophysique.
