METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WASHING PAPER PULP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The washing efficiency for removal of cooking and bleaching chemicals from cellulose paper pulp on rotary vacuum filters is improved by disrupting the filter mat with a low volume, directly impinged flow of wash liquor applied intermediately of soft, displacement wash liquor applications. No additional wash liquor is allocated for respective wash stages but the mat disturbing flow volume is deducted from the predetermined requirement with the remainder divided in substantially equal proportions applied before and after the mat disturbing application.
