A method of winding stators having skewed slots and an apparatus for performing the method. The method includes the steps of positioning a stator (108) in a stator winding machine wherein the winding machine includes a winding spindle (18) having a wire exit aperture (110). Wire is fed through the wire exit radially outwardly for placement on the stator while the winding spindle is simultaneously moved in rotating and reciprocating movement to direct wire into the slots (112) and around the ends of the teeth (114) of the stator. The wire is fed at a predetermined rate from a feed mechanism (78) located upstream from and mounted for movement with the winding spindle. The rate at which the wire is fed may be varied depending on the position of the winding spindle in a winding cycle and the desired position for placement of the wire within the stator.
Procédé d'enroulement de stators comportant des encoches hélicoïdales et appareil permettant de mettre en oeuvre le procédé. Ce procédé consiste à positionner un stator (108) dans une machine d'enroulement de stator dans laquelle une broche à bobiner (18) comporte une ouverture de sortie pour le fil (110). Le fil est introduit dans la sortie pour le fil radialement vers l'extérieur pour être placé sur le stator alors que simultanément la broche à bobiner est mise en mouvement par rotation et mouvement de va-et-vient pour diriger le fil dans les encoches (112) et autour des extrémités des dents (114) du stator. Le fil est alimenté à une allure prédéterminée par un mécanisme d'alimentation (78) qui est situé en amont de la broche à bobiner et monté pour se déplacer en même temps que cette dernière. L'allure à laquelle le fil est fourni peut être modifiée en fonction de la position de la broche à bobiner dans un cycle d'enroulement et de la position désirée pour placer le fil dans le stator.
