An arrangement is provided for charging a charge storage device (20, 102) by placing the charge storage device (20, 102) in an RF or microwave radiation field. One or more antennas (30) which receive the radiated RF electromagnetic field are placed on the charge storage device (20, 102). Rectifiers (58, 58') connected to the antennas (30) rectify the received RF electromagnetic field and produce a DC output current which is used to charge the charge storage device (20, 102). The charge storage device (20, 102) may be a battery (41) or a capacitor and may form an integral part of an electronic device. The same RF field that charges the charge storage device (20, 102) can also be employed to communicate data to transponders which may be associated with computing devices.
Cette invention concerne un système permettant de charger un dispositif accumulateur (20, 102) en le plaçant dans un champ de rayonnement RF ou à micro-ondes. On place une ou plusieurs antennes (30) recevant le champ électromagnétique irradié RF sur le dispositif accumulateur. Des redresseurs (58, 58') reliés aux antennes (30) redresse le champ électromagnétique RF reçu et produisent un courant continu de sortie servant à charger le dispositif accumulateur (20, 102). Le dispositif accumulateur (20, 102) peut être une batterie (41) ou un condensateur et faire partie intégrante d'un dispositif électronique.
