To prepare an initial portion on a replacement roll (4) of a substrate web (41), for example a printing paper web, for flying pasting, the new roll (4) is rotatably supported in a predetermined position. An adhesive application and cutter structure (5) is then placed in operative association with the roll. An initial portion of the web (41) is rolled off from the new roll, positioned on the support plate, and, in one operating step, an end, which may be jagged, is cut off and, inwardly of the cut edge (42), a perforating or tear-off line (43) is formed, to leave, between the cut edge and the tear-off line, a tear-off section (44). The web can then be repositioned on the plate (6) and a connecting adhesive (19) is applied to the upper side of the web, for subsequent flying pasting against a moving expiring web, for example, as well as a holding adhesive, applied in the inside of the tear-off section (44), so that the end portion of web (41) is securely attached to the roll. Preferably, the cutter and perforating blades are located on a single support block; and the adhesive applicators, likewise, are retained on a common support structure, which may be coupled with the blade support structure, for conjoint movement across the web.
La présente invention vise une méthode de préparation de la portion de départ d'une bande de substrat (41), par exemple une bande de papier d'impression, d'un nouveau rouleau (4), aux fins de collage en marche. Le nouveau rouleau (4) est supporté dans une position prédéterminée; un dispositif servant à appliquer l'adhésif et à couper la bande (5) est disposé en association avec ledit rouleau. Une portion de départ (41) est déroulée du nouveau rouleau et positionnée sur la plaque support; en une seule étape, un extrémité, qui peut être dentelée, est coupée puis, du côté intérieur du bord coupé (42), une ligne perforée est réalisée, ce qui crée une zone de déchirure (44) entre ces deux points. La bande est ensuite repositionnée sur la plaque support (6) et un adhésif de raccordement (19) est appliqué sur la face supérieure de la bande, pour coller en marche cette dernière sur la bande qui se termine, par exemple, ou encore un adhésif de retenue est appliqué sur la zone de déchirure (44), pour fixer l'extrémité de la bande (41) sur le rouleau. Dans une version privilégiée, les lames à couper et à perforer sont situées sur un seul bloc support, et les applicateurs d'adhésif, sur un autre bloc support commun, lequel est relié au bloc support des lames, pour un mouvement combiné par rapport à la bande.
