A method and device of treating an irregularly shaped article to prepare the article for painting is provided. The device includes a burner which can produce an adjustable flame tongue which can fit into crevices, openings and other irregular topographical features of an item to be painted or otherwise coated. The burner device further provides means to apply a grafting chemical on a freshly oxidized surface. Further, the invention provides means to colorize treated objects so that they may be recognized as having been treated. In another embodiment, the grafting chemicals may be enhanced with electrolytic solutions such that electrostatic methods of painting may be subsequently employed on the item. In an alternate embodiment, the burner is adapted to spray a powder inside of a generally enclosed flame, and is used in conjunction with chop guns to manufacture glass or carbon fiber preforms. In a preferred embodiment all of the main systems of the present invention are provided with redundancies that allow the continuous operation of the device. Further, the device provides means to run and modify the process either locally or by remote communication means.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de traitement d'un article de forme irrégulière pour préparer l'article à la peinture. Le dispositif inclut un brûleur capable de donner une flamme réglable capable de passer dans les crevasses, les orifices, et les autres formations topographiques irrégulière d'un article à peindre, sinon à enduire. Le brûleur comporte en outre un organe permettant d'appliquer un produit chimique de greffe sur une surface fraîchement oxydée. L'invention concerne également des organes permettant de colorer des objets traités pour qu'on puisse les reconnaître comme ayant été traités. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, les produits chimique de greffe peuvent être renforcés par des solutions électrolytiques de façon qu'on puisse appliquer ultérieurement à l'article des procédés de peinture électrostatiques. Selon encore un autre mode, le brûleur est conçu pour pulvériser une poudre à l'intérieur d'une flamme généralement enfermée et pour pouvoir s'utiliser en liaison avec un canon à faisceaux de fibres pour la fabrication d'avant-formes de fibres de verre ou de carbone. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, l'ensemble des systèmes principaux de la présente invention sont protégés par redondances de façon à garantir la continuité du fonctionnement du dispositif. En outre, le dispositif comporte des organes permettant d'exécuter et de modifier le processus soit localement, soit avec des moyens de communication à distance.
