ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and arrangement in a receiver in an optical fibre information transmission system for increasing the dynamic range of a transimpedance-type input stage. The optical imput comprises a non-amplifying opto-electric transducer having two poles which is connected by one pole to the input of a high-impedance amplifier with feedback between its input and output provided by a resis- tance. The amplifier output signal is fed back to the amplifier imput via a signal path comprising an integrator connected between the output of the input stage and the other pole of the photodiodes, and a capacitance in parallel with the transducer.
