The invention concerns a method of optically detecting an electrical variable (1), periodic dependency being established between the optical measuring signal and the electrical variable (I) to be measured. According to the invention, two optical, periodically dependent measuring signals are used to obtain an unequivocal measuring signal. The resultant measured values are used as a value pair for unequivocally allocating an absolute value of the electrical variable (1).

Selon ce procédé de détection optique d'une variable électrique (I), une dépendance périodique est établie entre le signal de mesure optique et la variable électrique à mesurer (I). Afin d'obtenir un signal de mesure univoque, il est prévu d'utiliser deux signaux de mesure optiques présentant une dépendance périodique. Les valeurs mesurées servent de paire de valeurs pour affecter de façon univoque une valeur absolue de la variable électrique (I).
