The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for recording and playing back sounds, especially music, whereby stereo recording and playback techniques are at least partially used. The aim of the invention is to allow for a three-dimensional acoustic reproduction, especially music reproduction, that comes as close to a natural experience as possible. According to the inventive method, the aim of the invention is achieved by at least one 2+2+2 recording and playback technique and by means of a corresponding number of sound tracks for producing a sound impression which is realistic, three-dimensional and closely resembling nature in width, depth and height. L'invention concerne un procédé et une installation pour enregistrer et reproduire des sons, en particulier de la musique, procédé faisant appel, en partie, à des techniques d'enregistrement et de reproduction stéréo. L'objectif de l'invention est de trouver une solution permettant, en particulier pour la musique, une reproduction sonore tridimensionnelle se rapprochant le plus possible de l'événement vécu. Cet objectif est atteint, selon le procédé présenté, grâce à au moins une technique d'enregistrement et de reproduction 2+2+2, faisant appel à un nombre correspondant de pistes son pour la production d'une image sonore tridimensionnelle réaliste, proche de la nature, en largeur, profondeur et hauteur.
