The present invention concerns a method and an arrangement for the verification of individually presented items of mail provided with individually unique machine-readable identification codes, where the identification code of a presented item of mail is read and the identification code that has been read is checked against machine-readable information about intended items of mail and their status, whereby the current item of mail is a) removed if the identification code is not present in the intended items of mail or if it is illegible, and b) the status of the current item of mail is checked against the machine-readable information about intended items of mail and their status in order to determine whether the current item of mail has previously been delivered. If the current item of mail has previously been delivered, the current item of mail is removed. If the current item of mail has not previously been delivered, the information about the status of the current item of mail is updated with information that the current item of mail has been delivered and the current item of mail is allowed to pass as a verified delivery. Furthermore, an item of mail that has been approved for delivery is retained until a subsequent item of mail has been identified and approved for delivery.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un agencement de validation d~articles postaux présentés individuellement et portant des codes d~identification individuels et uniques lisibles par machine, le code d~identification d~un article postal présenté étant lu puis validé par rapport à des informations lisibles par machine relatives aux articles postaux prévus et leur état. Dans le cadre de la présente invention, a) l~article postal en question est enlevé si le code d~identification n~est pas présent parmi les articles postaux prévus ou s~il est illisible, et b) l~état de l~article postal est validé par rapport aux informations lisibles par machine relatives aux articles postaux prévus et leur état afin de déterminer si l~article postal en question a déjà été livré. Si l~article postal en question a déjà été livré, celui-ci est enlevé. Si l~article postal en question n~a pas encore été livré, les informations concernant son état sont mises à jour avec des informations indiquant qu~il a été livré et validé comme « livraison validée ». En outre, un article postal qui a été approuvé en vue de sa livraison est retenu jusqu~à ce qu~un article postal suivant ait été identifié et approuvé en vue de sa livraison.
