To limit the development of heat in subscriber circuits which exist in large numbers in telecommunication systems, the power loss of these circuits must be kept as small as possible. The invention achieves that the power loss of the power amplifier (1), which amplifies a low amplitude ring voltage, is reduced in that the operating voltage (U Bi) of the power amplifier (1) is not constant as is the well known custom, but that it is controlled. This takes place through a simple switching controller (2), so that in large time segments the operating voltage (U Bi) is only insignificantly greater (more negative) than the ring voltage (U RA).

L'invention fait en sorte que la perte de puissance de l'amplificateur de puissance (1), qui amplifie une sonnerie à faible tension, est réduite en ce sens que la tension de fonctionnement (U Bi) n'est pas constante - ce qui est connu -, mais qu'elle est plutôt contrôlée. Cette réduction est réalisée au moyen d'un simple dispositif de commande de mutation (2), de sorte qu'en ce qui a trait à des tranches horaires importantes, la tension de fonctionnement (U Bi) est à peine plus élevée (plus négative) que la tension de sonnerie (U RA).
