The invention relates to the production of boxes having a variable volume adapted to the height of the products (4) contained therein, in which: the box (3) is cut along the vertical edges thereof, bend lines are formed at a suitable height on the sides (12) of the box in order to define upper flaps, and said flaps are folded down above the contents of the pre-filled box. At least one inflated or inflatable dunnage bag (16) is placed in the box (3) around and/or above the packaged products (4) after the bend lines have been formed, but before the flaps have been folded down above the contents. The bag (16) is inflated or deflated in order to fit the free space around and/or above the products (4). The invention also relates to a combined machine which cuts each box, marks and prepares same, inserts dunnage bags and closes each box.
L'invention concerne la réalisation de caisses de volume variable adapté à la hauteur des produits (4) emballés dans chaque cas, avec coupe de la caisse (3) le long des ses arêtes verticales et formation de lignes de pliage à une hauteur convenable sur les flancs (12) de la caisse pour délimiter des rabats supérieurs, puis pliage de ces rabats au-dessus du contenu de la caisse préalablement remplie. Au moins un sac de calage (16) gonflé ou gonflable est mis en place dans la caisse (3), autour et/ou au-dessus des produits (4) emballés, après la formation des lignes de pliage et avant le pliage des rabats au-dessus du contenu de la caisse. Le sac (16) est gonflé ou dégonflé pour s'ajuster au volume libre existant autour et/ou au-dessus des produits (4). Il est aussi proposé une machine combinée qui réalise la coupe, le marquage, la préparation et la pose des sacs de calage, et la fermeture des caisses.
