METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING PINE ENGRAVERS ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to methods and compositions for combating pine engravers, Ips pini, which attack and kill pine trees in North America. Methods and compositions are described, whereby verbenone, 4,6,6-trimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]hept-3-en-2- one, or verbenone plus ipsenol, 2-methyl-6- methylene-7-octen- 4-ol, are spatially deployed to reduce or prevent attack by Ips pini on pine logs or standing pine trees.
