The present invention provides a method for removing hair from a selected skin area comprising the steps of (a) applying a liposome composition to the selected skin area; (b) removing from the skin area substantially all of the liposome composition; and (c) applying light to the skin area at an appropriate wave length, energy and duration to penetrate the skin and cause the photosensitizer to undergo a reaction to damage the hair follicles. The present invention also provides a composition useful for hair removal.

L'invention porte sur un procédé dépilatoire dans une zone sélectionnée de peau consistant: (a) à appliquer une composition de liposomes sur la zone sélectionnée de peau, (b) à éliminer de la zone de peau sélectionnée sensiblement toute la composition de liposomes, et (c) à appliquer à ladite zone de la lumière de longueur d'onde, d'énergie et de durée appropriées pour pénétrer la peau et amener le photosensibilisateur à subir une réaction qui endommage les follicules pileux. L'invention porte également sur une composition dépilatoire.
