Cardiovascular cell proliferation in a blood vessel subjected to trauma, such as angioplasty, vascular graft, anastomosis, or organ transplant, can be inhibited by contacting the vessel with a polymer consisting of from 6 to about 30 amino acid subunits, where at least 50 % of the subunits are arginine, and the polymer contains at least six contiguous arginine subunits. Exemplary polymers for this purpose include arginine homopolymers 7 to 15 subunits in length.
Il est possible d'inhiber la prolifération de cellules du système cardio-vasculaire dans un vaisseau sanguin auquel on fait subir un traumatisme, angioplastie, greffe vasculaire, anastomose, transplantation d'organe notamment, par mise en contact dudit vaisseau avec un polymère comprenant de 6 environ à 30 environ sous-unités d'acides aminés, 50 % au moins de ces sous-unités étant arginine, et ledit polymère renfermant au moins six sous-unités arginine contigues. Parmi les polymères à cet effet présentés en exemple figurent des homopolymères d'arginine comprenant de 7 à 15 sous-unités en longueur.
