The present invention is directed to a lubricant for contact lenses or dry eye or to provide relief from eye irritation. In particular, the composition contains a biguanide preservative in combination with polyvinylpyrrollidone. An ophthalmic solution containing such a combination of components can be applied, in the form of droplets, to the eye or to contact lens in the eye. In one embodiment of the invention, the composition is used as a universal lubricant, meaning that the same solution can be used with or without contact lenses, depending on the needs of the user, whether in the context of a contact-lens care or general eye care.
La présente invention concerne un lubrifiant destiné à des lentilles cornéennes ou à un oeil sec, ou servant à soulager un oeil irrité. Cette composition contient notamment un agent de conservation biguanide combiné à une polyvinylpyrrolidone. On peut appliquer une solution ophtalmique contenant une telle combinaison de constituants, sous la forme de gouttes, sur l'oeil ou sur la lentille cornéenne placée sur l'oeil. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, on utilise cette composition en tant que lubrifiant universel, ce qui signifie que l'on peut utiliser cette solution avec ou sans lentilles cornéennes, en fonction des besoins de l'utilisateur, soit dans un contexte de soin de lentilles cornéennes, soit dans un contexte de soin général de l'oeil.
