A method for modifying at least one non-ester-containing parent compound, and the compounds produced using such method, which compounds are deployed to temporarily incapacitate at least one subject are disclosed. The modified compounds are rapidly metabolized to inactive and non-toxic metabolites when exposure to the modified compounds is halted. One or more of a predetermined chemical arrangement is incorporated into the parent compound having the formula (I): .PHI.-R-X-R'; where .PHI. is a phenyl, substituted aryl or heteroaryl system present in the parent compound or is 10 added to the parent compound; R is an alkyl or alkene containing chain either branched or unbranched from 0 to 10 carbons present in the parent compound or is added to .PHI.; X is a carboxyl, sulfoxyl or phosphatyl function added to R; and, R' is an alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl group either branched or unbranched containing from 1 to 10 carbons is added to X in a metabolically 15 labile manner, or is a structural element already present as an inherent portion of the parent compound that is connected to X in a metabolically labile manner.
Cette invention porte sur un procédé permettant de modifier au moins un composé d'origine contenant un non ester ainsi que sur les composés produits à l'aide de ce procédé, lesquels composés sont déployés dans le but d'invalider temporairement au moins un sujet. Les composés modifiés sont rapidement métabolisés en métabolites inactifs et non toxiques lorsque l'exposition aux composés modifiés est interrompue. Une ou plusieurs dispositions chimiques prédéterminées sont incorporées dans le composé d'origine représenté par la formule F-R-X-R', dans laquelle F désigne un système phényle, aryle substitué ou hétéroaryle présent dans le composé d'origine ou ajouté à celui-ci ; R désigne un alkyle ou un alcène contenant une chaîne ramifiée ou non ramifiée contenant entre 0 et 10 atomes de carbone présent dans le composé d'origine ou ajouté à F ; X désigne une fonction carboxylique, sulfoxyle ou phosphatyle ajoutée à R ; et R' désigne un groupe alkyle, alcényle ou aralkyle ramifié ou non ramifié contenant entre 1 et 10 atomes de carbone ajouté à X de manière métaboliquement labile, ou désigne un élément structurel déjà présent dans une partie inhérente du composé d'origine qui est liée à X de manière métaboliquement labile.
