The invention concerns a cooling method for the subrack (2) in a rotary furnace comprising the production of a coolant stream inside the subrack (2) and the flow of at least one Fr part of coolant stream in a generally vertical manner along the surfaces determined by the walls (2A,2B) of the subrack (2). The invention also concerns a device capable of implementing the method.The invention allows for the speed of the subrack cooling of the rotary furnace to be accelerated considerably.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de refroidissement d'une alvéole (2) de four à feu tournant comprenant la production d'un flux de refroidissement à l'intérieur de l'alvéole (2) et l'écoulement d'au moins une partie Fr dudit flux de manière sensiblement verticale le long de surfaces déterminées des parois (2A, 2B) de l'alvéole (2). L'invention a également pour objet un dispositif apte à mettre en oeuvre le procéde. L'invention permet d'accélérer considérablement la vitesse de refroidissement d'alvéoles de four à feu tournant.
