A method and a device for applying wrapping sheets on pulp bales. The wrapping sheets are applied on each pulp bale (12) during the transport between at least one upper and at least one lower conveyor (2, 3). The height of the bale is measured by a transmitter (1) in connection with the transport between the conveyors. The value from the measuring controls the distance between the conveyors (2, 3) in that a positioning device (9) adjusts the position of the upper conveyor (2).
