The invention relates to a method and a device for avoiding interruptions in voice transmission in a cellular communication system. Voice data are thereby divided into segments, and the segments are associated with transmission quanta, so-called bursts. A number of segments is coded in a first transmission mode and is made available for transmission. Said first transmission mode is, for instance, for a transmission at full rate. Additional segments, which follow, are subsequently coded in a second tramission mode and am made available for transmission. The second transmission mode is, for instance, for transmission at half rate. Through the change from a first transmission mode to a second transmission mode, parts of the associated transmission quanta remain unused by applying the so-called interleaving. Said unused transmission quanta are used for performing additional functions, such as initiating a hand-over or FACCH signaling.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif servant à éviter des interruptions dans des transmissions vocales, dans un système de communication cellulaire. Ce procédé consiste à diviser des données vocales en segments, à associer ces segments à des quanta de transmission généralement appelés salves, puis à coder un certain nombre de segments dans un premier mode de transmission, et à rendre ces segments disponibles pour une transmission. Le premier mode de transmission est, par exemple, une transmission à la cadence maximale. D'autres segments suivants sont ultérieurement codés dans un second mode de transmission et sont rendus disponibles pour une transmission. Ce second mode de transmission est, par exemple, une transmission à demi cadence. Grâce au passage d'un premier mode de transmission dans un second mode de transmission, des parties des quanta de transmission associés restent inutilisées par application d'un processus dit d'entrelacement. Ces quanta inutilisés sont alors employés pour exécuter des fonctions additionnelles, telles que le démarrage d'une commutation ou d'une signalisation de canal de signalisation rapide (FACCH).
