The invention calls for a discrete material such as a gas, a liquid or a living being, to be exposed to electromagnetic radiation from a large-area irradiator, causing the molecules to resonate at their natural frequency and hence to become warmer. In order to lower the temperature of the material, the radiant energy emitted by it is extracted via a receive antenna, resulting in a loss in energy and hence cooling of the material. Working in an enclosed fluid-filled space, the fluid can also be included, by suitable choice of radiation spectrum, in the resonance interaction producing the warming or cooling effect.
Un matériau discret (1) tel qu'un gaz, un liquide ou un être vivant est exposé à un rayonnement électromagnétique fourni par un émetteur de rayonnement (2) à grande couverture, à une fréquence de l'ordre de la fréquence de résonance moléculaire dudit matériau discret (1), ce qui provoque une résonance des auto-oscillations des molécules, qui induit leur réchauffement. Pour abaisser la température du matériau discret (1), l'énergie radiante qu'il émet est dérivée par l'intermédiaire d'une antenne réceptrice (5), ce qui entraîne un dégagement d'énergie thermique et par conséquent un refroidissement. Dans un espace clos rempli de substances, un choix judicieux du spectre de rayonnement permet également d'intégrer la substance dans le processus de résonance interactive pour chauffer ou refroidir.
