An apparatus and method for containing fluid about sections of joined fluid vessels (1) is presented. The apparatus and method incorporate the use of a vessel wrapping (5) substantially enclosing the area between the vessel sections (1) so that substances carried by the vessel are contained by the wrapping when the sections are separated. The wrapping (5) is secured (6) to the sections of pined vessels and substances contained by the vessel wrapping when the sections are separated.
