The invention concerns a method for continuously coating at least one surface of a metal strip with a single-layer or multilayer crosslinkable polymer fluid film (20) obtained from solid precursors at room temperature and free of non-reactive solvent or diluent and whereof the softening temperature is higher than 50 ·C. The method consists in continuously unwinding the metal strip (1), preheating said metal strip (1) at a temperature substantially equal to or higher than said crosslinkable polymer softening temperature, forming by forced flow on an applicator roll (12) with deformable surface a single-layer or multilayer coat (13) of said crosslinkable polymer, driving in rotation the applicator roll in the same direction as that of the unwinding of the metal strip (1), heating the applicator roll (12) to a temperature higher than the temperature for forming the coat and transferring said coat onto the metal strip to form the single-layer or multilayer film (20) on the corresponding surface of the metal strip (1). The invention also concerns a coating device for implementing said method.
L'invention a pour objet un procédé de revêtement en continu d'au moins une face d'une bande métallique par un film (20) fluide monocouche ou multicouches en polymère réticulable élaboré à partir de précurseurs solides à la température ambiante et exempts de solvant ou de diluant non réactif et dont la température de ramollissement est supérieure à 50 ~C. Le procédé consiste à faire défiler en continu la bande métallique (1), à préchauffer cette bande métallique (1) à une température sensiblement égale ou supérieure à la température de ramollissement de ce polymère réticulable, à former par écoulement forcé sur un cylindre applicateur (12) de surface déformable une nappe (13) monocouche ou multicouches dudit polymère réticulable, à entraîner en rotation le cylindre applicateur dans le même sens que le sens de défilement de la bande métallique (1), à chauffer le cylindre applicateur (12) à une température supérieure à la température de formation de la nappe et à transférer ladite nappe sur la bande métallique pour former le film (20) monocouche ou multicouches sur la face correspondante de la bande métallique (1). L'invention a également pour objet un dispositif de revêtement pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
