The invention concerns a method for controlling a conductor element (20) used for locating a continuity defect of the conductor element, the conductor element having relative to a reference conductor an insulation resistance and a stray capacitance. The invention is characterised in that the method comprises a step which consists in injecting into the conductor element at least two current (i¿1?, i¿2?) of different frequencies using a current or voltage generator (23) whereof one terminal is connected to the reference conductor, at least a step which consists in measuring the amplitudes of the currents at a selected measuring point (P¿i?) along the conductor element, and a step which consists in calculating the imaginary part of currents and/or calculating the leak capacity of the conductor element downstream of the measuring point (P¿i?).

L'invention concerne un procédé de contrôle d'un élément conducteur (20), applicable à la localisation d'un défaut de continuité de l'élément conducteur, l'élément conducteur présentant relativement à un conducteur de référence une résistance d'isolement et une capacité de fuite. Selon l'invention, le procédé comprend une étape consistant à injecter dans l'élément conducteur au moins deux courants (i1, i2) de fréquences distinctes au moyen d'un générateur de courant ou de tension (23) dont une borne est connectée au conducteur de référence, au moins une étape de mesure des amplitudes des courants en un point de mesure (Pi) choisi le long de l'élément conducteur, et une étape de calcul de la partie imaginaire des courants et/ou de calcul de la capacité de fuite de l'élément conducteur en aval du point de mesure (Pi).
