ABSTRACT The method and apparatus enable filling of a container with articles being transferred from a flow-forming station A to a filling station B by means of a conveyor, the shifting of which is controlled with regard to the rotation of a ratchet-wheel. The motor driving the ratchet- wheel is actuated by a flow height detector and shifting of the roller table bearing the container is piloted by a pump connected to a hydraulic piston by means of a flow regulator. In order to secure the required flow of the hydraulic piston, the position detector of a shiftable gauge measuring the thickness of the elements to be processed commands said flow regulator.
