The invention relates to a method and a device for decontaminating waters, especially groundwaters, which are loaded with organic halogen compounds (halogenated hydrocarbons) in a strong and complex manner. According to said method, the contaminated waters are pre-treated (1) in order to convert the halogenated hydrocarbons which are not easily volatized into constituents which are easily volatized. The halogenated hydrocarbons are subsequently transferred (2) from the aqueous phase to the gaseous phase where complete conversion into halogen-free compounds takes place at a high temperature by means of catalytic reductive dehalogenation (5).
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour la décontamination d'eaux, en particulier d'eaux souterraines qui sont fortement chargées, de manière complexe, en composés organiques halogénés (hydrocarbures halogénés). Selon ledit procédé, les eaux contaminées sont soumises à un prétraitement (1) dont l'objectif est de transformer les hydrocarbures halogénés peu volatils en composants très volatils. Ensuite, on fait passer (2) les hydrocarbures halogénés de la phase aqueuse à la phase gazeuse, à partir de laquelle ils sont transformés, à température élevée et par déshalogénation (5) catalytique réductrice, complètement en composés exempts d'halogène.
