It is known that an object can be detected in a region to be monitored by transmitting through the region a high-frequency scanning signal from one side of the region to an opposite second side thereof, where the signal is received in a transponder, modified and returned through the region to the first side. The modified scanning signal is received on the first side of the region and compared with a threshold value, an alarm signal being generated if this threshold value is violated. In order to optimize the threshold value (Uref1), a mean value (M) is continuously formed from the signal (U) compared with the threshold value (Uref1) and from this mean value (M) the threshold value (Uref1) is formed, taking account of a predetermined safety margin.

Pour détecter un objet dans une zone à contrôler, on connaît les procédés consistant à envoyer un signal d'interrogation haute fréquence émis d'un côté de la zone, qui traverse ladite zone pour atteindre le second côté opposé de ladite zone. Le signal d'interrogation est alors reçu dans un transpondeur où il est modifié avant d'être renvoyé à travers la zone jusqu'au premier côté. Le signal d'interrogation modifié est reçu sur le premier côté de la zone et est comparé à une valeur seuil. En cas de vulnérabilité dudit signal d'interrogation, un signal d'alarme est produit. Pour obtenir un ajustement optimal de la valeur seuil (U¿refl?), une valeur moyenne (M) est formée en continu à partir du signal (U) comparé à la valeur seuil (U¿refl?), valeur moyenne (M) à partir de laquelle la valeur seuil (U¿refl?) est obtenue compte tenu d'une marge de sécurité prédéterminée.
