The invention is directed to a method for directly producing a lost mold by machining a sand mold made with curable binders. The invention is intended in particular to decrease tool wear and to increase dimensional accuracy and exactness in the reproduction of the mold, in that a mold blank (1) to be machined is constructed by means of a pattern set (4) with the use of a variable or fixed molding box (2) and includes in its volume the desired contours of the casting mold and a machining allowance for the milling of the mold material. After filling of the molding box (2) with curable foundry mold materials, curing, and removal from the mold, the mold blank (1) is transformed into the casting mold by removal of the machining allowance by high-speed machining, milling or 3-D machining of freeform surfaces. The invention concerns lost molds for metal castings and the fabrication of casting prototypes and odd parts in the range of small- and medium-sized articles and production runs.
L'invention concerne un procédé de production directe d'un moule de coulée perdue par usinage d'un moule en sable formé avec des liants durcissables. En particulier, l'usure des outils doit être abaissée et le respect des côtes et l'exactitude doivent être accrus lors de la copie du moule, par le fait que l'on réalise, au moyen d'un châssis de moule (2) pourvu d'un ensemble modèle (4), une ébauche de moule (1) à usiner qui présente, en ce qui concerne le volume, les contours du moule de coulée, ainsi qu'une surépaisseur d'usinage permettant le fraisage de la matière du moule. Après remplissage du châssis de moule (2) avec des matières de moule de coulée durcissables, et après le durcissement et le démoulage desdites matières, on donne à l'ébauche de moule (1) sa forme de moule de coulée définitive en enlevant sa surépaisseur d'usinage par usinage à haute vitesse, fraisage ou usinage en trois dimensions des faces de moule libres. L'invention concerne des moules de coulée perdus pour la coulée de pièces en métal, ainsi que la fabrication de prototypes de pièces coulées et de pièces individuelles de dimensions et de masses petites et moyennes.
