ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a method and circuitry for driving non-linear devices. A data signal sent to the device to be driven is passed through an amplifier and added to a bias current voltage. The amp- lifier output voltage in the absence of a signal is regulated by a difference signal obtained by comparing the potential across the driven device with the amplifier no-signal output voltage. This prevents change in the current through the device in the absence of a data sig- nal. The amplifier may be gain controlled either manually or by feedback from the device output in the presence of a signal.
