The invention relates to a method for notching covers (3) for a book body (2), whereby at least two notches (5, 6) which delimit the spine are made in the cover by means of a notching tool. The invention provides that a set of automatic book body pincers (50) with at least one moveable stopping face (52) is used for adjusting the distance (d) between the notches, and the value for the thickness of the book body (2), said value being determined by means of the automatic set of book body pincers (50), is used for automatically adjusting the distance (d) between the notches (5, 6). The invention also relates to a device for notching book covers (3), which comprises a notching iron (10) with a stationary and a displaceable tool pair (11, 12; 13, 14), whereby the displaceable tool pair (11, 12 or 13, 14) can be automatically adjusted by means of a control unit to the desired distance (d) between the notches (5, 6) that delimit the spine (8).
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de rainurer des couvertures de protection (3) de corps d'ouvrage (2), selon lequel au moins deux rainures (5,6) délimitant le dos du livre sont pratiquées au moyen d'un outil de rainurage dans la couverture de protection. Selon l'invention, il est prévu d'utiliser pour ajuster l'écart (d) entre les rainures, une pince de corps d'ouvrage (50) automatique comportant au moins une surface d'arrêt (52) mobile et la valeur établie au moyen de la pince de corps d'ouvrage (50) automatique pour l'épaisseur dudit corps d'ouvrage (2) est utilisée pour ajuster de manière automatique l'écart (d) entre les rainures (5,6). L'invention concerne en outre un dispositif pour rainurer des couvertures de protection (3), qui comprend un fer à rainurer (10) avec une paire d'outils fixe et une paire d'outils mobile (11,12 ;13,14). La paire d'outil mobile (11,12 ou 13,14) peut être ajustée de manière automatique à l'écart (d) voulu entre les rainures (5,6) délimitant le dos d'un livre (8), au moyen d'une unité de commande.
