Method and device for filling a cigarette, in which loose fine cut tobacco is transferred into a prefabricated cigarette paper tube, particularly a filter cigarette paper tube. The device has a tobacco pressing chamber (17), a tobacco transfer piston (32) associated therewith, and a push-on nozzle (30) which serves for pushing on a prefabricated cigarette paper tube (31). By means of the tobacco transfer piston (32), tobacco can be transferred from the tobacco pressing chamber (17) into the cigarette paper tube (31). The tobacco pressing chamber (17) is radially defined by at least one, particularly four homogenising rollers (18, 19, 20, 21), uniformly disposed over the circumference and rotarily driven as well as rotarily interconnected.

Cette invention concerne une méthode et un dispositif de confection de cigarettes par transfert de tabac haché fin dans un tube de papier à cigarette préfabriqué. Le dispositif comprend une enceinte de bourrage (17), un piston de transfert de tabac (32) y associé, et une buse (30) servant à pousser sur le tube préfabriqué (31). Au moyen du piston de transfert (32), on transfert le boudin de tabac de l'enceinte de bourrage (17) dans le tube préfabriqué (31). L'enceinte de bourrage (17) est délimitée radialement par au moins un ensemble de quatre rouleaux d'homogénéisation (18, 19, 20, 21) répartis uniformément autour de l'enceinte, entraînés en rotation en synchronisme.
