The present invention relates to a method and a device for aligning wave guides such as optical fibres on a carrier. In order to fix the wave guide such as optical fibres on a carrier made of e.g. silicon, adhesive and a lid have been used, wherein the optical fibres have been placed in grooves on the carrier and the adhesive supplied to capillaries between the optical fibres in the grooves on the carrier and the attached lid, whereby a fixation of the optical fibres on the carrier has been obtained. In order to improve the adhesive penetration and to minimise the risk for air bubbles being formed between the carrier and the lid the lid has been formed divided comprised of for example two ribs (14, 15) arranged in parallel. The ribs when fastened onto the carrier will form two short capillaries between the ribs and the carrier with the optical fibres whereby it becomes easier to introduce the adhesive between the ribs and the optical fibres on the carrier and the adhesive will be able to be ventilated better.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'alignement de guides d'ondes tels que des fibres optiques sur un support. Afin de fixer les guides d'ondes tels que des fibres optiques sur un support, par exemple en silicium, on utilise un adhésif et un couvercle, les fibres optiques étant placées dans des creux du support et l'adhésif appliqué sur des tubes capillaires situés entre les fibres optiques se trouvant dans les creux du support et le couvercle qui y est rattaché, ce qui permet d'obtenir une fixation des fibres optiques sur le support. Afin d'améliorer la pénétration de l'adhésif et de réduire le risque de formation de bulles d'air entre le support et le couvercle, le couvercle est divisé, par exemple, en deux nervures (14, 15), ces deux nervures étant montées en parallèle. Lorsqu'elles sont fixées au support, les nervures forment deux tubes capillaires courts situés entre les nervures et le support contenant les fibres optiques; il devient ainsi plus facile d'introduire l'adhésif entre les nervures et les fibres optiques sur le support, ce qui permet de mieux aérer l'adhésif.
