Procédé et dispositif de pilotage d'un aéronef selon au moins un axe de pilotage. Le dispositif (1 ) comporte des moyens (2) pour déterminer une valeur de commande correspondant à la valeur d'un ordre représentatif de l'actionnement d'un organe de commande (3) par un pilote, des moyens (5) déterminant une valeur effective commandée correspondant à la valeur dudit ordre, effectivement appliquée à l'aéronef, des moyens (6) réalisant, à l'aide de la valeur de commande et de la valeur effective commandée, un asservissement de l'aéronef, des moyens (1 1 ) calculant une valeur de commande auxiliaire qui est plus proche de la valeur effective commandée que la valeur de commande, et des moyens (1 1 ) surveillant la valeur de commande et permettant de détecter un pompage piloté, l'asservissement étant réalisé à l'aide de la valeur effective commandée et de la valeur de commande auxiliaire en cas de détection d'un pompage piloté.
