The invention concerns a method and a device for interferential microscopic imaging of an object which consists in sending a light beam in each of the arms of a two-wave interferometer, one (7) of the arms comprising said object (9) to be analysed. The phase is subjected to a sinusoidal modulation to a frequency f. The signal modulation results from mechanical oscillation of an assembly of elements (16) of the interferometer. The interference signal (S) is integrated during said phase variation by means of a multichannel sensor (15). A computer (19) enables to record the integrated interference signal obtained during each period fraction 1/n and to calculate, subsequently, the image of the object (9). The invention is potentially useful for characterising thin layers, for controlling components in microelectronics, for reading data stored in volume (3D) and objects unstable in time; in biology and in vivo studies.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'imagerie microscopique interférentielle d'un objet dans lequel un faisceau lumineux est envoyé dans chacun des bras d'un interféromètre à deux ondes, l'un (7) des bras comportant ledit objet (9) à analyser. La phase est modulée de manière sinusoïdale à une fréquence f. La modulation du signal résulte de l'oscillation mécanique d'un ensemble d'éléments (16) de l'interféromètre. Le signal d'interférence (S) est intégré au cours de cette variation de phase au moyen d'un détecteur multicanal (15). Un ordinateur (19) permet d'enregistrer le signal d'interférence intégré S obtenu pendant chaque fraction de période 1/n et de calculer, ensuite, l'image de l'objet (9). Applications possibles dans la caractérisation de couches minces, d'interfaces; pour le contrôle des composants en microélectronique, pour la lecture de données stockées en volume (3D) et d'objets instables dans le temps; la biologie, les études in vivo.
