ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and a device for improving the efficiency of a heat generator, e.g. a heat pump, which includes the step of intensively heating at least part of the evaporator. The device includes an evaporator, a compressor and a condensor connected in a circuit in which a heat transfer medium first evaporates by absorbing ambient heat and after the pressure has been increased is made to condense and so transfer heat to the surround- ings. At least part of the evaporator is equipped with a device to intensify the heat exchange between the surroundings and at least part of the evaporator.
