Abstract: Method and device for inserting a web of material into a processing machine To insert a web (1) of material into a processing ma- chine, particularly a machine for winding webs of paper or board into reels (3), an elastic, tension-resistant belt (15) is insert- ed into the web guide path by means of compressed air which flows essentially laminarly and parallel to a guide element (13) arrang- ed along the web guide path. The start of the web (1) of material is subsequently fastened to the belt (15) and the web (1) of material is pulled together with the belt (15) through the web guide path. A device for implementing the method has a web guide element (13), in particular a U-shaped channel, extending parallel to and at a short distance along the web guide path, evenly spaced flat-section nozzles (14) being allocated to said guide element. (Figure 1)
