Method and device for machining a workpiece by cutting or upsetting using at least one tool (67), wherein the workpiece or each tool is rotated about an axis. Each tool (67) is moved longitudinally along an axis parallel to the rotational axis, each tool (67) is simultaneously and transversely moved along an axis orthogonal to the rotational axis, and the workpiece and each tool (67) are translated in relation to each other along an axis parallel to the rotational axis, in combination with said longitudinal and transverse movements, so that one of them is axially reciprocated over a variable amplitude range and synchronised with the rotation of the workpiece.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'usinage d'une pièce par enlèvement ou refoulement de matière au moyen d'au moins un outil (67), selon lequel on soumet ladite pièce à usiner ou chaque outil, à un mouvement de rotation autour d'un axe. Selon l'invention, on déplace longitudinalement chaque outil (67) selon un axe parallèle à l'axe de rotation, on déplace, simultanément et transversalement, chaque outil (67) selon un axe orthogonal à l'axe de rotation, et en combinaison avec ces déplacements longitudinal et transversal, on déplace en translation la pièce et chaque outil (67) relativement l'un par rapport à l'autre selon un axe parallèle à l'axe de rotation, de façon à conférer à l'un d'eux un mouvement alternatif axial d'amplitude variable synchronisé avec la rotation de la pièce.
