Abstract of the Disclosure In wrapping a wire around a pin, the turn being produced is rolled against the pin by a tool surface which rotates with the wrapping motion, so that defined and reproducible contact areas are created. As far as the forces are concerned, the contact-making and wrapping are decoupled from each other; the tension of the wire therefore needs to be designed only still for the wrapping process proper.
