A method and a device for the manufacture of wrapping sheets (15) from a pulp web (11). The pulp web (11) is after drying profiled by an embossing device (12), so that the pulp web is provided with a large number of elevations distributed over the entire web. The web is thereafter cut to sheet form (15) by a cutting machine (14), and the sheets are placed upon each other to form a stack.
