The invention relates to a method for marking a surface with controlled periodic nanostructures, that comprises: a step (500) of encoding information in the form of an image including values representative of the encoded information, and a step (506-514) of point-by-point marking an area of said surface with a polarised laser beam in order to form oriented nanostructures on or in said surface by modulating the polarisation of the laser beam for each marking point based on the value of a point of said image. In some embodiments, during the marking step, the method comprises using a pulsed laser with durations lower than 10x10-12 second and a polarisation means of the light emitted from said laser source and reaching said surface, adapted for polarising the light along a variable polarisation axis based on a signal received by said polarisation means.
Le procédé de marquage d'une surface par nanostructures périodiques contrôlées, comporte : une étape (500) de codage d'une information sous forme d'une image comportant des valeurs représentatives de l'information codée et une étape (506 à 514) de marquage, point par point, d'une zone de ladite surface avec un faisceau laser polarisé pour former des nanostructures orientées sur ou dans ladite surface, en modulant la polarisation du faisceau laser pour chaque point de marquage en fonction de la valeur d'un point de ladite image. Dans des modes de réalisation, au cours de l'étape de marquage, on met en oeuvre un laser à impulsions d'une durée inférieure à 10x10 -12 seconde et un moyen de polarisation de la lumière issue de ladite source laser et atteignant ladite surface adapté à polariser la lumière selon un axe de polarisation variable en fonction d'un signal reçu par ledit moyen de polarisation.
