The processing unit (27) is made of an amplification unit (34) coupled with a calculation unit (39) itself connected to a memorizing unit (40) joined with a control unit (45) for stopping the main motor of a platen press. The processing unit is also connected with a display unit (33) provided with scale members (55 to 58). The device is used for measuring the forces and avoiding overload in a platen press.
