A B S T R A C T A method and a device for measuring X-ray radiation from Cath- ode Picture Tube (CPT) are provided. An X-ray detector is located on the screen of CPT. Memory1 is used to store a true signal plus background and memory2 to store background. Signals from the detector are transfered to memory1 whenever the electron beam hits dots facing the sensitive area of the detector and to memory2 whenever the electron beam scans the screen outside the sensitive area. Light sensitive elements are used to determine the position of the electron beam on the inner surface of the screen. A dramatic improvement in the ratio of true signal to background is successfully achieved.
