The invention concerns a method for producing a metal coating on an object (4) emerging from a molten metal bath (5). The object may be a wire or a plate. The method consists in: generating a magnetic filed in the proximity of the site where the object emerges from of the bath; withdrawing the object from the molten metal bath through an outlet channel (3) containing the meniscus of said molten metal bath; adjusting the thickness of the metal coating on the basis of the second derivative of the curve of the meniscus (6) and a capillary number Ca representing the ratio between the viscous forces of the molten metal bath and the surface tension at the molten metal surface.
La présente invention est relative à un procédé pour réaliser un revêtement métallique sur un objet (4) sortant d'un bain de métal fondu (5). L'objet peut par exemple être un fil ou une plaque. On crée au voisinage du point de sortie de l'objet un champ magnétique. L'objet sort du bain de métal fondu à travers un canal de sortie (3) contenant un ménisque dudit bain de métal fondu. On règle l'épaisseur du revêtement métallique en fonction de la dérivée seconde de la courbe du ménisque (6) et d'un nombre capillaire Ca représentant le rapport entre des forces visqueuses du métal fondu et des forces de tension superficielle à la surface du métal fondu.
