The invention concerns a method which consists in a preliminary spreading of the yarns or tows (10) and the placing thereof side by side substantially in a common plane, then in sweeping their surface with at least an air jet (22) in a movement transverse relative to the longitudinal direction of the yarns or cables, so as to obtain a substantially homogeneous unidirectional web (20).
