ABSTRACT The tool is supported by a support face on the upper side of a spinning or twisting ring, with a bearing face bearing on the outer edge of the ring. A hook engages by a tip below the inner end of a ring traveller, which is brought into a predetermined position by a permanent magnet let into the support part. By actuating the tool, the hook is moved in the direction of the support face, so that it lifts the ring traveller over the inner edge of the ring. After passing over the inner edge and due to its spring action, the expanded ring traveller jumps into a channel, which leads to a collecting container. With such a removal of the ring traveller from the ring, the yarn drawn by the ring traveller remains undamaged.
